Processing Time


PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT UKRAINE INTRODUCED A VISA FREE REGIME FOR CITIZENS OF THE COUNTRIES OF EUROPEAN UNION, U.S.A., CANADA, JAPAN, SWITZERLAND, NORWAY, SAN MARINO, MONACO, ICELAND, VATICAN, ANDORRA, LIECHTENSTEIN AND REPUBLIC OF KOREA, WHO MAY STAY IN UKRAINE WITHOUT VISAS UP TO 90 DAYS.
A passport
valid for six months beyond the planned date of travel is required.

For citizens of the above mentioned countries who enter Ukraine with the purpose of employment, permanent residency, study and work at the diplomatic missions of the above mentioned countries in Ukraine or with any other purpose if they are going to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, visas are still required.

No visas are required for citizens of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (except Turkmenistan).

The turnaround time for

"REGULAR" visa service is not less than 9 business days;

"EXPEDITED" service - 3 business days.


Since there are many questions regarding a visa processing time please note that:

(a) Visa processing starts only after we have registered your application and collected all necessary documents.

(b) A drop-off day is not counted as a business day.

(c) If you apply by mail please allow one more day processing time.

(d) Any application received on weekends, official Ukrainian and US holidays will be registered by the Consulate only on the next business day.


IMPORTANT: Applicants, non USA, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Slovakia, Turkey and the European Union countries citizens, or stateless persons, must allow at least 15 business days for their visa application to be processed and additionally submit the following documents:

  • Proof of readmissibility to the USA (US Alien Registration Card, US Temporary Resident Card, employment authorization etc.)
  • Original letter of invitation (no fax or e-mail copies) made through a Ukrainian "Visa and Registration Office" (for all types of visa).

ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD CAREFULLY READ THE VISA REQUIREMENTS
AND SUBMIT ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS.


ALL APPLICATION PAPERS MUST BE CORRECTLY AND COMPLETELY FILLED OUT
(as well as a proper payment attached)
. FAILURE TO COMPLY OR PROVIDING
INCORRECT OR MISLEADING INFORMATION WILL RESULT
IN THE RETURN OF THE APPLICATION UNPROCESSED.

WE ADVISE YOU TO HAVE YOUR VISA IN HAND BEFORE PURCHASING AIRLINE TICKETS.

The Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco
is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,
except on weekends, Ukrainian and American legal holidays.
Visa documents are accepted until 11:45 a.m. only.
